STEGH Foundation’s 6th Annual Signature Black Tie Gala “Midnight in Paris”

STEGH Foundation’s 6th Annual Signature Black Tie Gala “Midnight in Paris”

St. Thomas, ON – The results are in! More than $108,000 was raised at this year’s Paris inspired Gala! St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation’s 6th Annual Signature Black Tie Gala “Midnight in Paris” was another impressive evening in support of OUR Hospital. Generous sponsors, volunteers and guests gathered at the St. Anne’s Centre on Saturday, October 20th, 2018, for this one-of-a-kind fundraiser in support of cancer care at STEGH.

“We are thrilled with this year’s Gala. We had a fantastic turnout from the community, and our sponsors continue to step up to support this important cause,” explains event Co-chair and Foundation Board Member Lois Hamilton. “The Foundation wishes to extend our particular thanks and appreciation to our Premiere Presenting Partner – the St. Thomas General Surgical Associates – for their generosity and support of the Gala.”

This year’s 6th Annual Signature Black Tie Gala “Midnight in Paris” emulated the ambiance of an evening in the City of Lights. Thanks to caterer James Meadows, the guests enjoyed delightful French inspired cuisine. Live entertainment, gaming for prizes, and a silent auction were integral to the success of the event.

The new and exciting feature this year of “Portes Mystéres” (Mystery Doors) was a huge hit! Guests purchased keys for $20 each and took a chance at unlocking a door to win an incredible prize valued at a minimum of $2,500. All keys sold and there were five very lucky winners.
We extend our thanks and appreciation to all of our sponsors for their generosity. Our sincere thanks to our volunteers for their incredible support, including the St. Thomas Railway City Rotary Club who generously volunteered as croupiers for the Gala’s gaming.

This year, the proceeds from the Gala will benefit cancer care at OUR Hospital. STEGH works with London Regional Cancer Program (LRCP) to enable patients from St. Thomas and Elgin County to receive their cancer treatments close to home. Our highly skilled frontline staff provide surgical procedures, chemotherapy treatments and follow-up care options to ensure the continuum of care is available to our patients in their home community.

Since 2013, the STEGH Foundation’s annual fundraising Gala has cumulatively raised more than $400,000 in support of patient care excellence. The funds raised through the Gala have supported the following service areas: 2013 Chair Affair – Mental Health; 2014 CASO Royale – Digital Mammography; 2015 Black Tie & Pearls – Patient Care Resource Centre; 2016 Masquerade – OUR Hospital’s new CT Scanner; and 2017 Hooray for Hollywood – Cardiac and Intensive Care Unit.
