St. Thomas, ON – The St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation’s Mission is to partner with the community to support OUR Hospital in the delivery of an excellent patient care experience. In pursuit of excellence, philanthropy and high quality professional fundraising practice, we are proud to announce that our organization has been re-accredited with Imagine Canada’s Standards Program.
Imagine Canada is a national charitable organization who supports Canadian charities. Their three goals are to amplify the sector’s collective voice, create opportunities to connect and learn from each other, and build the sector’s capacity to succeed.
As part of Imagine Canada’s Standards Program, there are 73 Standards that organizations have to meet before they can receive accreditation. The Standards are focused into five areas: Board Governance; Financial Accountability and Transparency; Fundraising; Staff Management; Volunteer Involvement.
“This is an important program we take great pride in participating in, as the Standards Program helps us maintain a high-level of professional practice in all that we do at the STEGH Foundation,” Foundation Executive Director, Paul Jenkins comments. “We strive for accountability, fiscal responsibility and transparency, as part of our commitment to our donors, so they know that their donations support OUR Hospital.”
The Standards Program Trustmark signals that an organization has demonstrated compliance with each of the Imagine Canada Standards. The accredited organization is permitted to use the Trustmark annually for a period of five years, contingent on demonstrating ongoing compliance via the completion and submission of an annual compliance report and license fee.
The STEGH Foundation continues to works closely with philanthropic minded community members to raise more than $500,000 annually to purchase patient care equipment. Help us transform our healthcare through a gift of support to OUR Hospital.
