McDonald’s Spreads Holiday Cheer

St. Thomas, ON – On Wednesday, November 27th, the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation, along with local McDonald’s owner, Gord MacLeod and his team, kicked off the giving season with a special $10,000 donation for the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital’s Women and Children’s Services.

This gift is made in support of the STEGH Foundation’s recent holiday appeal for OUR Hospital’s Women and Children’s Services. McDonald’s is a committed community partner, and this gift will help support the purchase of new equipment and tools like Birthing Beds, Stretchers, a Nursing Call System and a Baby Alarm System, and much more. McDonald’s will match the first $10,000 donated in response to this appeal.

“The holiday season has started off with an amazing donation!  We hope our donors will continue their generosity this Christmas by supporting Women and Children’s Services. I think this resonates with so many people, as STEGH has helped many generations of families welcome their newest members, and support our moms and babies during their stay at the Hospital,” explains Paul Jenkins, Executive Director, STEGH Foundation. “We are so fortunate to live in a generous community that understands the importance of helping all clinical areas, including Women and Children’s Services. The holiday season will be special this year as we are helping our moms and babies,” he adds.

The St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation works with our community partners to raise funds for patient care equipment. Supporting OUR Hospital is our top priority, and working with good corporate partners such as McDonald’s, helps us succeed in carrying out our mission.

“We believe in giving back to our community, which is why we are proud to partner with the STEGH Foundation to support STEGH’s Women and Children’s Services. The St. Thomas McDonald’s team and patrons all live locally, they raise their families here and rely on OUR Hospital at all stages of life, including the birth of their little ones,” explains Gord MacLeod, Owner, McDonald’s. “Making this donation is a way to support our employees, customers and community as a whole, and we are proud to do so this holiday season.”

The community is invited to join with our good corporate citizens in support of the incredible transformations taking place at STEGH.  There are many ways for individuals, businesses and civic organizations to get involved and the best place to start is by visiting ItsOURHospital.ca.
