Dr. Walter Romano & Yolanda Mundt

Doc Talk Series

On Thursday, September 24th, 2020 our “Doc Talk” series continued with a virtual presentation by Dr. Walter Romano and Yolanda Mundt.

Dr. Walter Romano is a graduate of Western University’s Medical School and Diagnostic Imaging program. He has sub-specialty training in Cross Sectional Imaging with Certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine from the University of Michigan. Dr. Romano was a member of Western’s Department of Diagnostic Imaging until 2013 when he joined St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH) as Department Chief.

Yolanda Mundt is the Manager of STEGH’s Diagnostic Services. Yolanda is a graduate of Fanshawe College: Pre-Health Science (1984-1985), Medical Radiation Technology (1985-1988), and Ultrasound Technologist (2002). She has held positions with Fanshawe’s Mammography Training Program, St. Joseph’s Health Care London, Strathroy Middlesex Health Alliance, and GE Medical.  Click here to watch the Doc Talk on our Youtube channel.

On Thursday, August 20th, 2020 our “Doc Talk” series started with a virtual presentation by Dr. Douglas MacPherson.  Dr. MacPherson is trained and qualified in Internal Medicine, Medical Microbiology, Clinical Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases, and he is an expert in international public health and outbreak management.  Click below to listen to Dr. MacPherson share insight into the COVID-19 pandemic in our community – what we know, what we are learning and why there is reason to be hopeful.

The STEGH Foundation hosted its 7th Annual Signature Black Tie Gala “Harvest Moon” on Saturday, October 19th, 2019 to a sold out crowd!

A gourmet “Field to Fork” meal was enjoyed by all, supporting local growers and producers.

6th Annual Black Tie Gala 2018

More than $108,000 was raised at this year’s Paris inspired Gala! St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation’s 6th Annual Signature Black Tie Gala “Midnight in Paris” was another impressive evening in support of OUR Hospital. Generous sponsors, volunteers and guests gathered at the St. Anne’s Centre on Saturday, October 20th, 2018, for this one-of-a-kind fundraiser in support of cancer care at STEGH.

A no skills necessary fundraiser open to just 60 teams of four (plus a General Manager) raising $1,000 each, a free winter carnival for families of every shape and size, and an epic Family Day weekend of Canadiana, cocoa, and competing in St. Thomas, Ontario!
